How Optimirox score is calculated

Optimirox score = a Reel’s views ÷ the creator’s median Reel views. This is an Optimirox metric for comparing a post with its own account’s baseline, not an official Instagram score or a forecast of future reach.

Which posts form the baseline?

The current calculation uses collected Reels belonging to the account that have more than zero views. At least five such Reels are required. It uses the available collected sample, not a fixed 30-day window or a guarantee of the account’s full history. Photos and carousels are excluded from the baseline.

A worked example

Suppose the sample contains five Reels with 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000 and 12,000 views. The median is 3,000. The 12,000-view Reel has a score of 4×. Optimirox marks a score of 3× or more as a breakout. These numbers are an illustrative calculation.

Why the score can change

The baseline is recalculated when collected account data is updated. New samples or refreshed view counts can change both the median and existing scores. Cached results do not represent a guaranteed real-time snapshot.

What the score cannot tell you

Without a sufficient baseline, a meaningful comparison is unavailable; a missing score is not evidence of poor content. The ratio does not establish why a post performed well, normalize for the age of each Reel, or measure sales. Use it to select posts for closer inspection.
